A note-for-note transcription of a fabulous arrangement by Ira Hearshen featured in the film Toy Story 2. Two versions are included on the soundtrack album of the film, one sung by American crooner Robert Goulet, and the other played as a tenor sax solo by Tom Scott. Both versions are represented in our transcription, plus an additional version for alto sax solo, with alternative saxophone parts included - three arrangements for the price of one! This is without doubt one of our favourite modern big band numbers. Arranged for 5444 big band, complete with score and parts.

You've got a friend in me,
You've got a friend in me.
When the road looks rough ahead
And you're miles and miles from your nice warm bed,
You just remember what your old pal said,
Son, you've got a friend in me,
Yeah, you've got a friend in me.
You've got a friend in me,
You've got a friend in me.
You got troubles, then I got 'em too,
There isn't anything I wouldn't do for you.
We stick together, we can see it through,
'Cause you've got a friend in me,
Yeah, you've got a friend in me.
Some other folks might be a little bit smarter than I am,
Bigger and stronger too, maybe.
But none of them will ever love you the way I do,
Just me and you, babe.
And as the years go by,
Our friendship will never die.
You're gonna see it's our destiny,
You've got a friend in me.
You just remember what your old pal said,
Son, you've got a friend in me.
We stick together, we can see it through,
'Cause you've got a friend in me.
Some other folks might be a little bit smarter than I am,
Bigger and stronger too, maybe.
But none of them will ever love you the way I do,
Just me and you, babe.
And as the years go by,
Our friendship will never die.
You're gonna see it's our destiny,
You've got a friend in me,
You've got a friend in me,
You've got a friend in me, yeah!
